Overview
MeridianLink Mortgage is a cloud-native, 100% browser-based mortgage loan origination system for banks, credit unions and independent mortgage bankers, across retail, wholesale and correspondent lending. MeridianLink's November 2022 release names it MeridianLink Mortgage, formerly LendingQB. Its pricing engine, PriceMyLoan, is built in.
I worked on Mortgage from August 2022 to September 2024 as a software engineer at Bhavna Software India, in a support developer role: workflow automation, pricing and underwriting logic in PriceMyLoan, e-document handling, compliance automation and vendor integrations. The highlighted parts of the map are where that work sat.

Impact
Four areas of the mortgage platform I worked on. Each row names the problem the area solves, what I did there, and which layers of the stack the work went through.
Automated
mortgage workflow
Workflow automation
Loan officers and processors
- The problem
- Fragmented, manual steps slow a mortgage file and let errors in.
- What I did
- Worked on workflow automation in the LOS, where tasks are created and resolved by configuration rather than by hand.
- UI (yes)
- API (yes)
- Data (yes)
PriceMyLoan
pricing and eligibility
Pricing and underwriting logic
Lenders pricing loans in PriceMyLoan
- The problem
- Pricing and eligibility have to be exact, because a wrong price or fee becomes a costly loan error.
- What I did
- Worked on pricing and underwriting logic in PriceMyLoan, the engine that combines underwriting, product pricing and fee generation.
- UI (no)
- API (yes)
- Data (yes)
eDocs
document handling
Electronic documents
Borrowers, processors and closers
- The problem
- Mortgage files carry many documents that must be packaged, shared and signed.
- What I did
- Worked on e-document handling, supporting digital packaging and eSignature on the way to a paperless close.
- UI (yes)
- API (yes)
- Data (no)
Compliance
and vendor integrations
Compliance and vendor integrations
Compliance teams and partner services
- The problem
- Mortgage regulation and many outside vendors touch every loan, across retail, wholesale and correspondent lending.
- What I did
- Worked on compliance automation and vendor integrations, helping improve processing speed, borrower experience and regulatory accuracy.
- UI (no)
- API (yes)
- Data (yes)
Four of the four went through more than one layer of the stack. The layers come from what my resume names for this work: React and TypeScript screens, ASP.NET Core and C# APIs, and EF Core over MSSQL.

- What it is
- A cloud-native, 100% browser-based mortgage loan origination system for banks, credit unions and independent mortgage bankers, across retail, wholesale and correspondent lending. MeridianLink's November 2022 release names it MeridianLink Mortgage, formerly LendingQB.
- PriceMyLoan
- The pricing engine built into the LOS, combining underwriting, product pricing, closing-cost fee generation and margin management, aimed at higher pull-through, shorter cycle times and fewer buybacks.
- Workflow and documents
- Configurable task creation, workflow and resolution; eDocs with eSignature and real-time collaboration; paperless closing; a TPO portal for brokers from submission to close.
- Integrations
- Core connectors that end double data entry into core banking, plus webhooks, open APIs and hundreds of partners.

PriceMyLoan results

Pricing, eligibility, fees and margin for one scenario.
A purchase scenario priced across programs and investors. Ineligible programs name the rule they failed, closing costs are generated with the price, and margin and lock build the final number.
Role
- Software engineer at Bhavna Software India, on MeridianLink's products from August 2022 to September 2024.
- Created core components, and coded across HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6 and later), TypeScript, React, C#, VB.NET and ASP.NET Core.
- Wrote maintainable, testable code with NUnit and Moq.
- Worked with the client on requirement analysis for stories and tasks, system design, and product enhancements.
- Managed deployments and monitoring through Azure Monitor and Azure Blob Storage.
Constraints
- Pricing, eligibility and fees must be exact: a wrong number becomes a costly loan error or a buyback.
- Mortgage regulation touches every loan, so compliance had to be automated, not checked by hand.
- Retail, wholesale and correspondent lending share one system, and changes had to hold for all three.
- Vendor services for documents, signing and data plug into the loan file, so an integration could never stall it.
Architecture
The browser-based LOS runs the loan file over an ASP.NET Core and VB.NET service layer on MSSQL, with PriceMyLoan pricing and eligibility inside it, eDocs and eSignature for the paperwork, and core connectors and vendor integrations around the edge.
How I worked
- Straight from the client
- Requirement analysis for each story and task happened with MeridianLink directly, so system design and enhancement ideas came from the people who own the product.
- Sprint rhythm
- Feature planning, sprint discussions and peer code reviews, with work tracked in Jira and designs handed over in Figma.
- Tested as it ships
- Unit tests in NUnit with Moq for the services behind each change.
- AI assistants, used deliberately
- GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT to speed up feature work, troubleshoot issues and support code reviews.
Results
Support across the mortgage pipeline that helped improve processing speed, borrower experience and regulatory accuracy: automated workflow, exact pricing logic, digital documents, and compliance built into the flow.
